Workshops

I offer workshops in creative exploration and intuitive art for all ages. All of my workshops include mindfulness and embodiment exercises. Some workshops end in a collaborative or individual art piece and some workshops are simply about the process and building community. I strive to be wildly inclusive, trauma-informed, and ready for the difficult conversations that inevitably emerge when we get out of our comfort zones and tap into our creative potential.

I have been on the Arts for Learning NW and Right Brain Initiative Teaching Artist rosters for many years. I also offer adult and senior workshops, both in person and virtually. For more information and rates, email me

My most popular workshop to date is creating “Joy Murals” with community groups. In this workshop, participants create a playful, polka dot collage installation for any indoor space that needs uplifting. We begin every session with a different grounding exercise, and creativity warm-up up learning several self-soothing tools throughout our time together. Next, we look at contemporary artists and discuss the difference between illustration and abstract art. We create an abstract “angry” drawing to understand the difference more deeply. Then we move on to what designer Ingrid Fetell Lee calls the aesthetics of joy: patterns, round shapes, bright colors, multiplicity, and lightness. We explore the elements of joy and how contemporary artists use them in their artwork. We then apply them to our own paper collages. Participants learn about positive self-talk and what-if questions, and explore their own creative process. Finally, each individual creates a round collage that becomes part of the large joy mural installation.  The temporary mural remains a visual reminder of the work we accomplished together - of how we are all unique, and when we work together, we can make a bigger impact than as individuals.

Making art with others is a powerful tool for cultivating connection; connection to self, to community and to our planet. When we feel connected we are engaged and invested. To nurture this connection in group settings, I use group agreements, affirmations and mindfulness exercises alongside the art activities that stimulate creative exploration and play. Students help me grow through visual and verbal assessment, asking and answering questions. Regardless of that trajectory, we are practicing our social emotional skills and exploring our creative expression. As we strengthen those skills we are strengthening the possibility for a bright and liberated future for us all.

Map of The Future

Each leaf was carefully scrubbed by hand, leaving

only its lignin skeletal structure. The only remains of

the wetland that is now the Marine Five building are

microorganisms and mold spores. They use a similar

structure to the leaf lignin to connect their

communities. That similar structure is amplified in

the form that the scrubbed leaves create.

Six months of scrubbing. Scrubbing and wondering if

perhaps this strong wandering structure that is so

present and persistent is the map of the future, our

way forward. Mapping a shift away from oppressive

linear structures towards interconnectivity and

dialectical complexity. Towards new ways of finding

home together.

Site Specific

My creative process is grounded in playing with and listening to everyday materials, relying on them to inspire and guide me, giving their stuff-ness and history to my artwork, allowing them to make meaning. Having the opportunity to be in conversation with a specific spot of earth feels like an exercise in listening to materials on a much deeper level - no longer just materials, but sentience wanting to be heard, stories longing to be told through my hands. When familiar materials are recognized in a new context, they are seen differently. This allows the viewer to see differently for a fleeting moment - to feel a lightness, a familiarity or a unique sense of connection with what they see. This is always what drives and inspires me; that magical sense of lightness and connection.

I do commissions and consultations. If you want a site specific piece or simply a garden consultation, it would be my pleasure to explore the possibilities with you, please email me for pricing and scheduling.

Books on Purpose

I have crafted a unique interview process using my empathic and artistic skills to draw out your inherent wisdom and help you feel more clearly connected to your highest self. I love this process- I’ve seen it help so many people! Through this process we find and clarify your truth. I then take that information and develop a unique art piece especially for you that reflects your wisdom back to you. These pieces are highly unique and personal. They can include precious heirlooms or momentos, sentimental bits and pieces or even photographs.

If you would like to embark on this adventure, or are just curious to know more, simply email me and we can schedule a free informational interview.

Here is a general outline of what the process looks like:

• Interview process, conducted over 2 sessions, each one around 90min

• One of a kind sculpture/book unique to you (may be made of some or all of the following: paper, clay, found materials, fibers and fabric)

• Can include a special keepsake from you (perhaps a special stone, charm, letter, piece of fabric, small heirloom, natural material or photograph that is special to you)

• Quotations and drawings taken from your interview process

• Wall hung or 3D finished art piece

• Certificate of Authenticity

Books and Sculptures

I strive to shift logical thought/reason - to create a moment of thoughtful lightness. This shift can clear your palate and you see differently for just a moment. In that seeing differently you feel your connection to all things more strongly. That connection is what makes us whole, it is what makes us able to love and feel our magnificence. All work is one of a kind. For inquiries about a specific piece, or to commission a piece, simply email me

Energy Work

I have been attuned to all the Reiki symbols since 1997. Reiki healing is a tool I use to balance and support my health and wellbeing as well as something I offer to those around me for the same benefit. Reiki energy is also an integral part of my creative practice. We are far more than just physical bodies, and reiki is a way to access a knowing of how much more we truly are. I do not charge for these services, simply contact me to learn more or to schedule a session.
